Grand Union Housing Group is launched

We are delighted to announce the formation of Grand Union Housing Group, which started operating on Monday 17 March 2008, when the transfer of 2,900 homes from South Northamptonshire Council to South Northants Homes completed. The new group structure comprises: Aragon Housing Association, MacIntyre Housing Association and the newly formed South Northants Homes.

The new Group owns and manages around 10,000 homes across Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties, where it is well placed to deliver high-quality homes and services. Core services such as repairs, major improvements and housing management will be provided by the subsidiaries to their tenants, with support services, including finance and IT, provided by Grand Union to each of the subsidiaries.

Alan Humphreys, previously Aragon’s Chief Executive, has become the Group Chief Executive, Aileen Evans, previously Aragon’s Director of Housing Services, has become Aragon’s Managing Director and recently appointed Paul Calland is the Managing Director for South Northants Homes.

Our aim now is to improve and expand services throughout the Group and provide more affordable homes, which are desperately needed. The new group structure will provide the platform to enable us to do that.”
