Grand Union Housing Group (GUHG) has a strong people-focussed culture and is ideally placed to create and sustain dynamic neighbourhoods across its operational area.
The Group has four subsidiary organisations: Aragon Housing Association, one of the largest affordable housing providers in Bedfordshire which also provides specialist accommodation and support to people with learning disabilities, Rockingham Forest Housing, which owns and manages stock across six local authority districts; East Northamptonshire, Wellingborough, Kettering, Daventry, Northampton and Corby and South Northants Homes, which owns and manages 3,000 affordable homes transferred from South Northamptonshire Council in March 2008 and Grand Union Group Funding plc which was formed in November 2013 as a public limited company in order to issue bond money on behalf of the Group and on-lend to Aragon. The Group is the sole shareholder of Grand Union Group Funding plc.
Since its formation in March 2008, GUHG has established itself as a major operator in the region. It owns and manages over 11,000 homes across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and the surrounding counties.
We work in partnership with a number of other organisations and deliver both homes and services which benefit the community as a whole.
As the non asset holding parent, GUHG provides central services to its four subsidiaries. These include Finance, Governance and Business Services, IT, HR, Communications and Business Development. Core services such as repairs, major improvements and housing management are provided by the subsidiaries to their tenants.
As well as providing affordable rented accommodation the Group also helps people to enter the housing market through Shared Ownership schemes via its sales company, Grand Union Homes. Currently developing almost 300 new homes per year in partnership with developers and landowners, it is committed to providing high quality, sustainable homes.
The Group Board has overall responsibility for the strategy, with operational matters delegated to the individual subsidiary Boards.
